It was a little chilly, yet nice, and

Fue un fin de semana estupendo, y creo que lo mejor de esa escapada a New York fue visitar la exposicion de Fotografia de Richard Avedon que se encuentra en el International Center of Photography.

Avedon's own interest was always in the people, never in the fashions. In fact, the models tended to add a layer of complication to what he fundamentally believed was the
relationship between photographer and sitter. As he said: "A photographic portrait is a picture of someone who knows he (sic) is being photographed, and what he does with this knowledge is as much a part of the photograph as what he's wearing or how he looks."
you can see the glamorous Dovima wearing the first evening dress designed for Christian Dior by his new assistant, Yves Saint-Laurent.
After Dovima's death, in 1990 (age 62) Richard Avedon said, "She was the last of the great elegant, aristocratic beauties... the most remarkable and unconventional beauty of her time."
